Review: Heated Match

Heated Match Heated Match by Lynne Silver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.
'Heated Match' by Lynne Silver is the first book in the "Coded for Love" series. This is the story of Loren Stanton and Adam Blacker.

Adam was and is part of a government program of genetically enhanced soldiers. The program had been a secret but now their cover has been blown. Adam is now the leader of a covert ops group that was set to protect a baby from being kidnapped at a party. There Adam met Loren who pretty much took his breath-away and he was quickly attracted to her. Adam was able to get her to dance with him but she suddenly left him mid-dance. A short time later things start to go bad as the baby is kidnapped. Adam admits that he was distracted by Loren but they agree she wasn't part of the kidnapping. It seems her unknown to her brother named Chase, is part of the government program and he speaks up for her along with Adam agreeing that she wasn't part of it.

Loren is a journalist and her she was assigned to the party to report on the food, entertainment etc. side of things. But Loren after meeting Adam is very attracted to him and this upsets her. Loren leaves before the kidnapping happens and the next day her boss is upset that she left and didn't get the story. Loren talks her boss into letter her help work on the story which leads her to go to the government site where Adam, Chase and the other are. There she tries to take pictures and talk her way into the building to get a interview. Loren knows that is more to what is going on with Adam and this story.

Now Loren and Adam are face to face again. The attraction is just as strong if not stronger. Adam is being pressured to meet the request of fathering a child by his father/officials. But Adam doesn't want that due to how much it had hurt his mother. Will they have a choice in how their relationship develops? Can they fight their feels?
