'Ghost of the Highlands' by Connie C. Scharon is the First book in the "Highland Legends, Tales of the Isles" series. This is the story of Brianna and Cade.
Brianna has been sent to marry Cade who is the bastard son of MacLeod chieftain. Brianna is being punished for mistaking marring a man out to kill her father and harm her. Cade doesn't have any desire to marry but he does as his father commands. His father wants to ensure the title and lands go to Cade and not his cousins. So Cade is to get Brianna with child as soon as possible. But both Cade and Brianna past seem to haunt them. Brianna is finding that she has fallen in love with her new husband, but Cade seems to just want her to get with child. This causes some issues between the two also. This book has the jealousy, old loves, family miss trust and a hero slow to love. Enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more in the series.
