Review: Daughter of the king by Ashley York

Daughter of the king by Ashley York
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Daughter of the king by Ashley York is Book Three in "The Derbfine series. This is the story of Brighit of Clan Cruadhlaoch and Darragh of Clan MacNaughton. I have read (and loved them) the previous books in this series but feel this can easily be a standalone book.
Darragh and Brighit. have been betrothed since their birth. Although since they were not neighboring clans they didn't see each other much growing up. Brighit when she was younger and learned of the pending marriage was happy because Darragh was good looking and thought he might be there for her when other teased or picked on her but she soon learned he would keep his distance from her and they never really interacted. So in the present day when it is nearing time that they marry Brighit has not wish to do so and really doesn't get a long with him. Brighit had taken to being a Warrior and Darragh the times they did interact he was always trying to control her and her actions.
Darragh is aware that Brighit perfers to act a a boy warrior but he feels drawn to hear and besides he wants to do his duty in marring her. But the are only married a matter of hours before things start to go South and they will have to start to learn to trust each other to get their happy ending.
This was a hard to put down book for sure....loved it!
