The Portrait of Lady Wycliff by Cheryl Bolen is book One in The Lords of Eton Series. This is the story of Harry, the Earl of Wycliff and Louisa Phillips.
Harry is doing everything he can be legal or illegal to gain the fund to get back everything that was lost by his parents. Harry's father gambled away after thing but now that his parents are dead he has been working to fix what was lost. When he goes to the house where they had lived to see about buying it and getting back some personal items back he finds a women there....Louisa. Louisa is a widower who husband did not leave her anything and she is trying to take care of her family and herself. Louisa doesn't know who out right owns the house but she has had an interaction with him. So to help Louisa with her dire need of money he hires her to help him find the owner. But along the way they are finding each other and their feelings.
Really sweet romance that you can't put down....loved it!
