Shouldn't Have You by Carrie Ann Ryan is book Two in the Fractured Connections Series. This is the story of Harmony Wynham and Brendon Connolly. I haven't yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book.
Harmony and Brendon were friends before Harmony married Moyer. Three actually become very close and Brendon considered Moyer a great friend also. But then Moyer was killed in a tragic accident that Brendon feels some guilt over. Harmony has been trying to deal with her husband's death and having to start a new life without him. Brendon and Harmony somewhat feel away from their close friendship but have started to get back what they had and more. Now that Harmony is trying to move on into the dating world as Moyer would have wanted she is finding it a disaster. Brendon was close to Harmony but after their short time apart starts to feel a stronger love for her then every before.
This was a really good friends to lovers romance both dealing with some drama from their past and how the death of Moyer affected them.
