Promise by SR Jones is book 2 in the Mafia Vows series. This continues the story of Damen and Maya, so you really need to read the first book "The Debt" before reading this one.
Maya wants Damen to love her and she doubts that he will or can. Damen tries to show her that he cares but is unable to make the move that she actually wants. Each have issues from their past that totally control what they feel and act. But danger is near and each will need to face what they have tried to put in the past.
