Sinners & Gin by Alta Hensley is book 6 in the Top Shelf Series.
This is the story of Matthew Price and Aria Costa. I have read some of
the previous books and some of the previous characters do make
appearances in this one. With that said, I did feel this could be a
standalone book if you wish to do so.
Matthew is part owner of the Spiked Roses along with being a mafia boss. When Vittorio Costa steals a shipment from him he goes after his enemy for revenge. This leads Matthew to take Aria the daughter of Vittorio. Matthew takes her to his Colorado cabin to hold her prisoner. Aria has been more or less a prisoner of her father and lived a sheltered life. Aria is the complete opposite of Matthew where his is older, harsh and in control she is soft, caring and never been given control.
What Matthew didn't count on would be his growing feelings for Aria and her for him. This is a dark romance that has violence and Matthew is sometimes hard to like but overall I enjoyed their story. I hope to read more books from this author.
