My Review
Stepbrother by Stacy McWilliams is the story of Bailey Walker met Cooper Christie.
Bailey has not had the best childhood with her parents divorce along with the lost of her brother who she worshiped.  Now as a teenager her mother has found a man that she ends up marring taking Bailey away from what she knows to go into a house with two step-brothers and a step-father.  This just adds to her pain because the situation isn't a good one.  Baily and Cooper end up having a love hate relationship where their parents can't know that they are wanting to be more than Step-Brother/Sister.  There is abuse from all ends of Baily's life when no one she can really count on because they blow hot and cold with their feelings. This book does progress to Bailey as a successful women in the workforce but her past with Cooper just keeps coming back to mess her up.  This book does end with a cliffhanger setting you up for more of Bailey's story.

Possible Spoilers  and Definitely my personal opinion.

I have mixed feelings about this book, yes it kept me turning pages but only because I wanted to see something happy to happen to Bailey and for Cooper to man up... but it never happened.  I guess I am used to the male character not being scared of anything especially when the hero become a adult.  I was sad to see that was not happening with Cooper.  Cooper had the alpha attitude but couldn't take it to the level to standup to what was keeping them apart. Nor did he change to become that man in this book.  I hope that he finally grows up and becomes a strong man that goes after what he wants and isn't scared to fight and protect what he wants. Another thing I didn't care for was the cheating that he did to her.  When you love someone (at least in my fantasy world) they don't cheat on the heroine ...especially multiple times and in front of her.
