Vow to Protect by J.L. Beck and Monica Corwin starts the Duet of the story of Valentina 'Val' Novak and Aidrian Doubek.
Aidrian is a very dark man who softens to no one but when he sees Valentina he feels something move inside him. Aidrian's attraction is immediate and demanding so he must have her. Valentina has an abusive father who has promised her to Sal a man just as bad if not worse than her father. Sal isn't allow to touch her intimately but he sure does abuse her physically and mentally. Valentina only friend and comfort is her cousin Rose who she learns has been abused more by Sal than her. This leads her to ask for Aidrian's help in getting read of him but Aidrian will do it at a cost...having her. This book does end setting us up for the next installment in their story. I can't wait for it!! Loved the start to this Duet.
