RAPTURE & RUIN by Julia Sykes is the First book in Rapture and Ruin Series. This is the story of Alexandra Fitzgerald 'Allie' and Max Ferrara. Max is a young man in the Italian Mafia who has physical scars but also family ones. When he takes Allie to get information about her father who has been working with the Russian Bratva he starts to learn that she is just a innocent women unknowing of her father's dealings. When Allie gets free she tries to prove her father isn't who Max says he is which starts to bring danger to her door. This does end in a cliffhanger setting us up for the next installment in their story.
