THESE DIRTY LIES by L.A.Cotton is the First book in the Darling Hill Duet.  This starts the story of Phoenix Wilder 'Nix' and Harleigh Wren Maguire 'Birdie'.   There is a prequel called These Dark Hearts that did a introduction of the characters.  Nix and Bridie where each other everything in the Trailer park they lived in. Nix always watched out for his Bridie but then one day something happened and Birdie left. Birdie ended up going to stay with her father and his family in the rich part of town.  Birdie is still having issue to deal with and Nix is worried about her.  This book does end in a cliffhanger setting us up for the next installment in their story.
