Review: Sinful Scot

Sinful Scot Sinful Scot by Julie Johnstone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

SINFUL SCOT by Cecelia Mecca, Julie Johnstone is the First book in the Highlanders Through Time Series. This is the story of Rhys McCaim and Maggie Irvine.
Rhys and his brothers having been trying to help their dad who health wise is not doing good but mentally their father is distressed because their mother / his wife has disappeared. Rhys's father has told them that their mother didn't leave willing...that she was taken back in time. Of course they don't believe this can be true but when their father health ends up going further downhill they decided to look into this time travel theory. This is how Rhys ends up in the past to medieval Scotland and meets Maggie. Maggie because of her time period has no options but to marry someone who is awful but in turn will help her family. When Rhys just appears out of the blue they of course have a strong attraction. Maggie ends up helping Rhys which only draws them closer but danger is all around. This was a very exciting page turner read from me. I can't wait for more from this series. I am so excited that these two great authors have come together for this series!

Review: When a Highlander Weds a Hellion

When a Highlander Weds a Hellion When a Highlander Weds a Hellion by Julie Johnstone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When a Highlander Weds a Hellion Julie Johnstone is book 8 in the Highlander Vows: Entangled Hearts Series. This is the story of Broch MacLeod and Katreine Kinntoch. I have read the previous books (and Loved them!) but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Broch mother died never letting it know to her brother who his father was, so it was assumed he was a bastard. Broch worked hard to be a productive part of his Uncle's clan, being a great warrior, and being King David's right had man. When task to bring in the 'Hellion of the Highlands', who is Katreine. Katreine's sister died which the family lays it on the hands of their neighbors. So when the King is working to end the clan feud between the two with a marriage. But Katreine isn't having it and her family is standing with her. Broch vows to help find out what happened to her sister and bring the information to the King if its found true. But things are found out..of course the sparks are flying between the two...and there is a mystery to unwrap.
This book took me in from the start! Loved it.

Book Review For: 'How a Scot Surrenders to a Lady' by Julie Johnstone

How a Scot Surrenders to a Lady (Highlander Vows: Entangled Hearts #5)How a Scot Surrenders to a Lady by Julie Johnstone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

'How a Scot Surrenders to a Lady' by Julie Johnstone is Book Five in Highlander Vows: Entangled Hearts Series. This is the story of Cameron MacLeod and Sorcha Stewart. I have read some of the previous book but I do feel this can be a standalone book. Cameron is the youngest of his brothers and seems to have something to prove to them.
Sorcha and her twin brother Finn are very different in that Sorcha is more the warrior and Finn is more of the softer of the two. Their Father, Earl of Angus is very harsh and Sorcha and her mother used to buffer between the father and the son. But their Mother has died and now Socha is trying to keep protect her brother. Their father already married of their sister to a harsh man who just wanted a wife for children. Now their father is trying to make Finn into a Warrior by making him kill King Davids' Mistress, Katherine Mortimer. When he fails to do the job a fellow warrior named Hugo said he will do it if he can have Sorcha's hand in marriage. Sorcha knows that she should have left her father instead of staying with his threats to marry her off but she feels she needs to stay and protect Finn and their Uncle Brom, who is large as a warrior but has a mind of a child. But with this threat of killing the Kings Mistress to start the downfall of the King and knowing this will hurt Finn in the long run Sorcha goes to warn the Kings Mistress and their group.
Cameron is leading the group guarding the King's mistress and they are attacked he happens to see Sorcha.
Sorcha and Cameron actually met a few years back briefly when they was a Tournament going on that they both competed in. Although Sorcha was dress as a boy since women can't compete he saw her and tried to talk to her. But was stopped when she ran off and a Seer stopped him to tell him it wasn't his time to meet her. That she, Sorcha and him would meet again and she would bring him to betray his family and the King.
Now has come the time for them to meet and be together but Sorcha has hit her head and doesn't know anything it seems and Cameron is trying to stay strong and not fall as the Seer said he would.
This book you will not be able to put down...so be prepare to enjoy a few hours of reading!
