'Marking Madden' by J.L. Leslie is book one in the "Hearts of Hollis" series. This is the story of Jade and Madden. Jade had a very hard childhood growing up and came to Hollis to start a new life a few years back. Jade is a good, friendly girl who thought that a fling with a male friend was more than it was. That guy left about a year ago and now is back...and he is with someone else. Which makes Jade feel sad and unsure of how she felt for him. Madden has just come to town and is trying to forget a women he is in love with who he finds out his brother is in love with too...but the women loves his brother. So Madden up and left without a word and headed to Hollis. Madden family is well off but his mother and father have never really been there for him. They are both to busy in their own world but he is very close to his brothers. Jade and Madden start a slow friendship where he sets out to help her make the old boyfriend jealous. But it doesn't seem long before they are being together because the like each other. But can they both move forward toward their feeling or will something come between them?
