'The Rebel of Clan Kincaid' by Lily Blackwood is book two in the "Highland Warrior" series. This is the story of Magnus and Tara. I have read the previous book but I do think you can read this as a standalone book. We did learn in book one "The Beast of Clan Kincaid" that Magnus was really Faelan Kincaid the second son of the Kincaid family. Magnus was lost when his family was taken over and killed by enemies. Magnus didn't remember his previous family and only thought of himself as a bastard son of Laird Alwyn. When he learns from his brother who he is he joins in taking down Laird Alwyn to revenge his family death who Laird Alwyn was a part of. Tara has been taken by her guarding who is a very mean man to Laird Alwyn clan. Tara is to marry Laird Alwyn older Legitimate son who is also cruel.. in addition he was to marry her sister who now is dead. So Magnus and Tara are drawn to each other and both wanting to solve the mystery of her sister death. In addition Magnus wants to save Tara from marring his 'half brother'.
