'ONCE UPON A LADY' by Addie Jo Ryleigh is Book 8 in "The Soul Mate Tree" series. This is the story of Lady Katherine Baxto and Jackson Cooper. I have not yet read the other books so for me this was a standalone book.
Kate is the youngest of her sisters and to please her father has agreed to marry a Duke. But her sisters feel she should look for love. When having doubts she runs to be alone by a near by tree where she feels different and happens Upon Jackson with another women. Kate confronts Jackson after catching him. Jackson is taken back by Kate's beauty and the feeling he is experiencing. Jackson wonders if it something to do with the trees old folklore.
This book hooked you in from the start.
