His Rule by Natasha Knight & A. Zavarelli is the First book in The Rite Trilogy.  This starts the story of Mercedes De La Rosa and Lawson Montgomery 'Judge'.  This is a spin off off the Trilogy 'Society' which was Santiago (Mercedes's brother) and Ivy.  I think it does help to have read that trilogy but you can make this a standalone book/trilogy.  Judge along with Santiago are a part of a secret society where Mercedes went against her brother which she has to be reprimanded now.  Judge is Santiago best friend and he has been chosen to handle Mercedes punishment.  So this starts their dark taboo relationship.  I can't wait for the next installment.
