King of Spades by Alta Hensley is part of the Midnight dynasty World - Dark Fair Tale series.  This starts the story of Lyriope Bailey and Nick Hudson. Lyriope is the illegitimate daughter of Bryant Morelli which places her in the black sheep of the family.  Lyriope has been cleaning up after her mother and Step-father when they get into bad situations but now they have gone to far an owe a debt to the Sidorov family. When her cousin Sasha Morell  and her sneak into a party she gets into the cross-hairs of Nick.  Nick offers to help her with this new dilemma but there is a price to pay as he demands her in place of helping her.  This book does end setting us up for the next installment into their story.... can't wait!
