Landlord Wars by Jules Barnard is the story of Sophia and Max.
Sophia has found a place to leave with her friend Jack.  All seems to be going well until she meets the landlord who owns the building and leaves above them.  Max is very protective of Jack and his family due to his own situation.  Max knows Jack has been burned before so he is just in the protective mode but their attraction starts to take over.  Enjoyed this book and I hope to read more from this author.
